These funds are available through the State or Federal government, and do not need to be paid back.

$259,000 grant for repairs at Marseilles Library, with $125,000 for concrete/copper gutters, roof, and tuckpointing for bricks and facia

$500,000 grant for constructing a sidewalk on Rutland Street up to the Medical Center

$650,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant for renovation of Broadway Park and installation of splash pad   

$40,000 grant from IDOT Safe Routes to School to perform audit and develop Community Travel Plan; additional $250,000 for repair/replacement of sidewalks on Lincoln, Broadway and Illinois Street, installation of handicap access ramps at intersections and illuminated speed warning signs

$200,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for Municipal Boat Launch

Two, $450,000 Housing Rehabilitation Grants for low to moderate income families. More than 10 homes were renovated with over $1,000,000 invested. The City is working on the application to cover costs through grants for Round 3.

$1,500,000 Brownfield Grant to address environmental issues at Washington School and the Nabisco building  

$40,000 grant for housing demolition for residences too damaged to be rehabilitated 

$1.2 million grant to build a levee around the north Wastewater Treatment Plant to prevent flooding

$50,000 grant from Environmental Protection Agency for Lead Water Pipe Survey and inventory 

$1,000,000 grant to line sanitary sewers on Illinois Street

$538,724 grant to line sanitary sewers on East Bluff, Union and Washington Street

$1,200,000 Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant from Federal Emergency Management Agency for floodwall and pumping station construction to protect north wastewater treatment plant
